No. 6 Wisconsin Downs Buffalo

Madison, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Frank Kaminsky posted 25 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks and carried No. 6 Wisconsin to a 68-56 win over upset-minded Buffalo to conclude non-conference play. Sam Dekker added 13 points and Nigel Hayes scored nine -- all over the final 20 minutes -- for the Badgers (12-1), who overcame a sluggish first half to post their fifth straight win.


Stony Brook Stuns No. 13 Washington

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jameel Warney made a go-ahead jumper with 30 seconds remaining, and the Stony Brook Seawolves erased a 16-point deficit in the second half to stun the 13th-ranked Washington Huskies, 62-57, on Sunday. Warney ended with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks for the Seawolves (8-6), who beat a ranked team for the first time in school history.


No. 17 St. John's 82, Tulane 57

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) -- Sir'Dominic Pointer posted career highs of 24 points and seven steals to lead No. 17 St. John's to an 82-57 rout of Tulane at Barclays Center. The Red Storm (11-1) built a 47-22 halftime lead and forced 17 turnovers in moving to 11-1, the program's best 12-game start since the 1985-86 season. D'Angelo Harrison contributed 21 points and Rysheed Jordan had 12 in St. John's seventh straight victory since a loss to No. 8 Gonzaga on Nov. 28. Jonathan Stark paced Tulane (9-3) with 15 points and Louis Dabney finished with 12 in the loss, the Green Wave's second this week to a ranked opponent. Tulane was coming off a 66-57 setback at No. 13 Washington on Monday.

 

No. 23 Northern Iowa 74, South Dakota State 63

Cedar Falls, IA (SportsNetwork.com) -- Nate Buss had 14 points, Wes Washpun scored 12 and No. 23 Northern Iowa posted a 74-63 win over South Dakota State on Sunday. Seth Tuttle finished with 11 points and a career-high nine assists for the Panthers (11-1), who extended their home winning streak to nine games. George Marshall led South Dakota State (9-5) with 16 points, followed by Deondre Parks with 15.

 

 

SIUE Downs Robert Morris-Springfield

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Seven players scored in double figures Sunday as SIUE men's basketball closed out the nonconference schedule with a convincing 104-56 win over Robert Morris-Springfield at the Vadalabene Center. SIUE (4-7) has now won three straight games and has held all three opponents to fewer than 60 points. Robert Morris-Springfield fell to 5-7 with the loss.

   


Illinois Opens Conference Play Tuesday At Michigan

(Ann Arbor, MI) -- The Illinois Fighting Illini open Big Ten Conference play tomorrow night against Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Illini have won three in-a-row following Saturday's 93-45 rout of Kennesaw State. Illinois sits at 10-3 on the season. The Wolverines are 7-5.
