Bulls Beat Raptors In Shootout, NBA Roundup

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls used a 49-point fourth quarter to hold off the Raptors, 129-120, at the United Center. The 49 points is the most Chicago has scored in a quarter in franchise history. Derrick Rose led the way with 29 points, while Jimmy Butler added 27, 11 rebounds and four assists.

The Bulls have won three straight and six of seven. Kyle Lowry went shot for shot with Rose posting 34 points and six boards in the defeat. Jonas Valanciunas chipped in 20 and nine rebounds. Toronto had a six-game winning streak snapped.


Hornets Rock Nuggets

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Hornets made easy work of the Nuggets in their 110-82 victory at Time Warner Cable Arena behind 22 points from Al Jefferson. "Big Al" made 10-of-13 shots and grabbed seven rebounds. Kemba Walker added 18 points and nine assists for Charlotte, which has won three straight. Denver shot just under 38-percent from the field and missed 16-of-18 three point attempts. Ty Lawson posted 18 points and Alonzo Gee kicked in 15 off the bench. The Nuggets had won their previous two.


Rockets Run Past Blazers

(Houston, TX) -- James Harden fell two points shy of his career-high, leading the Rockets past the Trail Blazers, 110-95, at the Toyota Center. Harden went off for 44 points, seven assists and five steals. Dwight Howard chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds as Houston snapped a two-game losing streak. Portland wasn't able to recover from being outscored by 16 in the second quarter. The Blazers were without LaMarcus Aldridge, who had an upper-respiratory illness.  Damian Lillard totaled 18 points, but missed all five his three-point attempts. The Blazers had won their previous five.


Jazz Top Grizzlies

(Memphis, TN) -- Alec Burks led the way with 23 points as the Jazz picked up a 97-91 win over the Grizzlies at the FedExForum.  Gordon Hayward chipped in 21 points and Derrick Favors scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Enes Kanter added 13 points and nine boards for Utah, which has won three of its last four since dropping 12-of-13. Mike Conley led all players with 28 points as Memphis dropped its third straight game. Marc Gasol tallied a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double in the loss.


Hawks Hang On To Beat Mavericks

(Dallas, TX) -- Despite being outscored 39-23 in the fourth quarter, the Hawks hung on to beat the Mavericks 105-102 at American Airlines Center. Dennis Schroder led a balanced attack with 22 points and six assists. Paul Millsap tallied 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, and Kyle Korver added 18 points for Atlanta, which has won four in-a-row and 12-of-13. Monta Ellis led Dallas with 18 points, while Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 in the loss. Rajon Rondo tallied 13 points and eight assists for the Mavs, who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.


Spurs Top Clippers

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tim Duncan recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Spurs to a 125-118 win over the Clippers at the AT&T Center. Tony Parker netted 26 points in his return from a five-game absence, and Boris Diaw donated 23 off the bench for the Spurs, who snapped a season-high four-game losing streak. Manu Ginobili added 19 points and 10 assists in the victory. Chris Paul posted 25 points, Blake Griffin scored 22 and J.J. Redick had 21 for LA, which has lost two of three. Jamal Crawford chipped in with 18 points off the pine in defeat.


Warriors Clobber Kings

(Oakland, CA) -- Klay Thompson put up 25 points and six Warriors scored in double figures en route to a dominating 128-108 win over the Kings at ORACLE Arena. Justin Holiday tallied 18 points off the bench and Stephen Curry recorded a 12-point, 11-assist double-double. Marreese Speights and Andre Iguodala each had 12 points for Golden State, which moved to a league-best 23-3 on the year. DeMarcus Cousins paced Sacramento with 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Darren Collison added 17 points as the Kings lost for the sixth time in their last seven games.
