The Dieterich Movin Maroons pushed their season record to 10-0 with a 64-52 win over the St. Anthony Bulldogs Friday night. The game at the Enlow Center was heard on 979XFM.

Prior to the matchup, St. Anthony observed a moment of silence for Thomas Overbeck, the Dieterich native and player who was killed in an auto accident earlier this month. (direct link)

We'll have video of the entire game up late Sunday evening.

It was anybody's game through the first half of the contest. St. Anthony led 16-15 after one quarter, while Dieterich was up 28-27 at halftime. The third quarter told the story, though, as Dieterich outscored St. Anthony 18-6 in the period to lead 46-33 at quarter's end. Dieterich pushed the advantage to 15 points before started whittling away in the fourth period, getting the lead down to single digits before Dieterich hit its foul shots to maintain the lead and post the win.

Dieterich made 16 of 34 shots for 47%, including two of 10 from three-point land. The Maroons shot a whopping 41 foul shots and made 30 of them for 73%, while turning the ball over 16 times and pulling down 29 rebounds.

St. Anthony made 19 of 30 shots for 38% and went to the line 22 times, but made just 10 for 45% from the charity stripe. St. Anthony also committed 16 turnovers and grabbed 29 rebounds. The Bulldogs made four of 14 three-point shots.

Alex Bohnhoff was magnificent for Dieterich, scoring 29 points on eight-of-13 shooting including two threes and 11-of-11 foul shots. Bohnhoff found time to grab six rebounds. Devin Aherin scored 11 points while Lance Niemerg scored 10 and grabbed seven rebounds. Travis Niemerg scored nine points and also pulled down seven rebounds. Nick Feldhake scored four points while Marshall Mellendorf scored one point.

St. Anthony had three players in double figures; Kyle Hartke with 13, Andrew Gardewine with 12 along with seven rebounds, and Zach Gardewine with 10 points, all in the first half. Derek Rios scored eight points, Chandler Martelli five, and Nick Grunloh and Braden Puckett two apiece.

While Dieterich remained undefeated, St. Anthony saw a three-game winning snapped to slip to 5-4.

St. Anthony won the JV game, 55-39. Jeff Niebrugge led St. Anthony with 18 points while Alex Beesley added 10 points. Radloff led Dieterich with 14 points while Charlie Thoele scored 10 points.
