TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis split junior high boys basketball victories Thursday evening.
T-town was a 46-44 winner in the seventh-grade contest. T-town stepped out to a big 16-6 opening quarter lead then held off a challenge by the Bullpups in the final quarter.
Luke Ungrund scored 20 and Mtich Hardiek 13 for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Dust with 19 and Tingley with 10.
In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony turned the tables and edged T-town 47-44. The Bullpups held a 27-23 halftime lead then had a 10-7 final period. Strullmeyer led St. Anthony with eight points.
T-town was led by Dawson Smith with 17 points and Clint Weber with 14.

At Neoga
Neoga and Stewardson-Strasburg split victories Thursday evening.
Neoga was a 38-29 winner in seventh-grade play. Neoga took a 21-9 halftime lead. Johnson scored 15 for the winners. Stew-Stras was led by Kirby with 15. Stew-Stras drops to 2-6 in the National Trail Conference, 4-12 overall.
In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras claimed a 38-25 win to improve to 1-6 in the conference, 1-11 overall. Tabbert tallied 12 and Burton 11 for the winners. L. Peters led Neoga with eight.

At Mulberry Grove
Altamont's seventh-grade squad handed Mulberry Grove a 39-23 loss Thursday evening.
Altamont led 23-18 at halftime and 30-23 after three periods. Altamont then had a 9-0 run in the final quarter.
Kollmann led the winners with 18 points while Delaney added 14.
