Boys Frosh/Soph Results -- Dec. 15

Effingham St. Anthony picked up freshmen A and B boys basketball victories over Vandalia Monday evening.

In the A contest, the Bulldogs won 55-38. Vandalia held a 10-9 opening quarter lead but St. Anthony came back with a 23-6 second quarter run behind Alex Deters and Alex Beesley's eight points each. Adam Levitt had six points.

Deters finished with 18 to lead St. Anthony while Beesley added 16 and Levitt 13.

In the B freshman contest, Wyatt Lawrence scored 20 points as the Bulllpups downed Vandalia 43-18.

At Mount Zion

Mount Zion handed visiting Effingham a loss in both freshman and sophomore boys basketball play Monday evening.

The Braves claimed the freshman contest 55-30 by taking a 31-15 halftime lead. Effingham was led by Mason Hull with 11 points.

In the sophomore game, Mount Zion edged Effingham 57-49. The Braves held a one point lead after one quarter and pushed that to 33-22 at halftime.

Trevor Kreke tallied 15 and Wyatt Keith 10 for the Hearts.
