Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Karl-Anthony Towns scored 19 points in No. 1 Kentucky's 82-49 win over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday. Two days after junior Willie Cauley-Stein set a career-high with 21 points in a win over Texas, Towns, a freshman, posted a career-best while pulling down nine rebounds and blocking four shots.

"Watching him play I learned some stuff and took some stuff away and tried to implement it in to today's game," said Towns.

Towns has scored in double figures in four straight games after being held to nine or fewer points over the first five games of his career. Cauley-Stein had 11 points and Trey Lyles and Marcus Lee both scored 10 off the bench for the Wildcats (9-0), who have won every game this season by double digits.

Central Michigan 94, SIUE 61

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – SIUE senior Kris Davis scored a game-high 21 point Saturday to surpass 1,000 points in his career, but it came in a losing effort. Central Michigan defeated the visiting Cougars 94-61 in nonconference basketball at McGuirk Arena.

Central Michigan, which came into the game averaging more than 10 three-point baskets a game, connected on a school-record 20 en route to the victory Saturday. The Chippewas were 20 for 35 overall and 14 for 23 in the first half alone.

"They were making shots. They shot 61 percent in the first half from three," SIUE Head Coach Lennox Forrester said. "We made too many mistakes by leaving guys open and not closing out on shooters quick enough. That's how they're (Central Michigan) set up to play and they did a good job making shots and executing."

Central Michigan improved to 6-1 with the win, while SIUE fell to 1-5. The Cougars have dropped five straight games.
