Celtics Cut Down Wizards, NBA Roundup

(Boston, MA) -- Rajon Rondo scored 13 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 11 assists to lead the Celtics to a 101-93 win over the Wizards in the opener of a home-and-home set in Boston. Jeff Green led all scorers with 25 points for the Celtics, who have won three straight on the heels of a five-game skid. Marcus Thornton added 21 points in the win. Rasual Butler netted 22 points to pace the Wizards, who were down by as many as 25 in the second half.  Paul Pierce had 16 points in the loss.


Hawks Drop Nuggets

(Atlanta, GA) -- Paul Millsap hit 4-of-5 three pointers and finished with 23 points to lead the Hawks to a 96-84 win over the Nuggets at Philips Arena. Kyle Korver chipped in 15 points while Al Horford and DeMarre Carroll each scored 11 in the victory. Atlanta has won six in-a-row and eight of its last nine.  Wilson Chandler paced Denver with 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Timofey Mozgov also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Alonzo Gee also tallied 14 points for the Nuggets, who have dropped three straight.


Thunder Edge Pistons

(Auburn Hills, MI) -- Kevin Durant scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Thunder to a 96-94 victory over the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.  Russell Westbrook tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists while Serge Ibaka also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Oklahoma City has won four of its last five. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope paced Detroit with 19 points in a losing effort. Andre Drummond finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for the Pistons, who have dropped 12 straight.


Grizzlies Hammer Heat

(Memphis, TN) -- Jon Leuer led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds off the bench to help guide the Grizzlies to a 103-87 win over the Heat at the FedExForum. Mike Conley added 18 points while Courtney Lee and Zach Randolph each chipped in 17 points for Memphis, which avoided a season-high third straight loss. Dwayne Wade led all players with 25 points and dished out six assists as Miami dropped its fourth game in-a-row. Josh McRoberts had 14 points and Luol Deng scored 13 in defeat.


Mavericks Top Bucks

(Dallas, TX) -- Chandler Parsons posted 28 points to power the Mavericks to a 125-102 win over the Bucks from Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki added 21 points for Dallas, which shot nearly 60-percent from the field to move to 16-6. The Mavs have won six of seven overall. Monta Ellis chipped in with 19 points in the win. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 18 points to pace Milwaukee, which has lost four of five. Jabari Parker netted 15 points in the setback.


Blazers Knock Off Knicks

(New York, NY) -- LaMarcus Aldridge posted 24 points and 11 rebounds helping the Trail Blazers put down the Knicks, 103-99, at Madison Square Garden. Damian Lillard added 20 points, while Wesley Matthews chipped in 18. Portland hit 10 threes and had 21 assists. The Blazers improved to 16-and-4 with their fourth straight victory. Carmelo Anthony tallied a team-high 23 points and 10 rebounds as another fourth quarter comeback attempt fell short for New York. Amar'e Stoudemire also had a double-double with 16 and 10 boards. J.R. Smith came off the bench to hit 8-of-12 shots for 20 points. The Knicks lost their eighth consecutive game to fall to 4-18.


Pelicans Top Lakers

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Anthony Davis posted 23 points and six rebounds as the Pelicans topped the Lakers 104-87 from the STAPLES Center. Jrue Holiday added 22 points and eight assists for New Orleans, which snapped a two-game slide. Ryan Anderson had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in the win. Kobe Bryant hit 6-of-18 shots en route to 14 points as Los Angeles lost its third straight. Head coach Byron Scott put Ed Davis and Ronnie Price into the starting lineup and shifted Jeremy Lin plus Carlos Boozer to the bench, but it didn't make a difference.


Bulls Off Until Wednesday

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the Nets at the United Center. Chicago suffered 112-102 loss to the Warriors its last time out on Saturday. The Bulls have dropped two-of-three to enter the week 12-8 on the season.
