Effingham and Dieterich split victories in junior high school girls basketball action Monday evening.
Dieterich nabbed the seventh-grade contest 30-25. The Mustangs held an 18-16 halftime lead and led 24-22 going into the final period. Dieterich then rallied and had an 8-1 run to pull out the victory.
Dieterich was led by Johnson and Bierman with eight points each. Effingham was led by Krouse with 11. The Mustangs drop to 6-9.
In the eighth-grade contest, Effingham was a 34-4 winner. The Mustangs took a 27-2 halftime lead. Weis tallied 10 and Fox nine for the winners who improve to 15-1. Britton and Robards had the only two baskets for Dieterich.

At Effingham
Effingham St. Anthony and Mattoon both picked up victories Monday evening.
Mattoon was a 27-14 winner in the seventh-grade game. Mattoon broke a 6-6 first quarter tie to lead 12-10 at halftime. Mattoon then had a 15-4 second half run.
Katherine Slaughter led the Bullpups with six points as St. Anthony dropped to 12-7.
In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony was a 31-22 winner. The Bullpups had a 12-4 second period run. Meg Richards scored 16 as St. Anthony improved to 16-3.

At Salem
Teutopolis picked up two victories over Salem Franklin Park Monday.
T-town jumped out to a 15-0 first quarter lead in the seventh-grade game and took a 38-12 win. Olivia Niemerg led the winners with 10 points as T-town remained unbeaten at 20-0 on the season.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town picked up a 57-12 victory. T-town held a 31-2 halftime lead. Emma Deters scored 15 and Savannah Grimes 11 for the winners who are now 15-5 on the season.

At Altamont
Altamont captured two big scoring victories over Okaw Valley Monday evening.
Altamont was a 40-15 winner in seventh-grade play. Mary Guse tallied eight and Brooke Runge seven for the winners.
In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont led 22-4 at halftime and went on for a 40-4 victory. Tinley Mette scored 16 for the winners.
