Raptors Sneak Past Magic, NBA Roundup

(Toronto, Ontario) -- The Raptors rallied in the fourth quarter behind strong performances from Patrick Patterson and Louis Williams to beat the Magic, 104-100, at the Air Canada Centre. Patterson and Williams combined for 17 of Toronto's 32 points in the final 12 minutes. Kyle Lowry posted 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds as the Raptors improved to an Eastern Conference best 7-1. Evan Fournier tallied a game-high 24 points in the defeat. Tobias Harris filled up the box score with 23 points, 13 boards and five assists for Orlando, which has lost two in-a-row.


Grizzlies Hold Off Lakers

(Memphis, TN) -- Mike Conley posted 23 points helping the Grizzlies pull out a 107-102 win against the Lakers at the FedExForum. Marc Gasol added eight points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while Ben Udrih hit 8-of-11 shots on his way to 16 points. Memphis has won seven of its first eight games. Kobe Bryant missed 16-of-26 from the field, scoring 28 points with seven rebounds and six assists. Bryant broke the record for most missed shot attempts in NBA history during the loss. Los Angeles is 1-6.


Bucks Bounce Thunder

(Milwaukee, WI) -- O.J. Mayo netted 19 points off the bench as the Bucks bounced the Thunder 85-78 in Milwaukee. Brandon Knight added 16 points for the Bucks, who have won two in-a-row. Giannis Antetokounmpo chipped in with 14 points and nine rebounds in the victory. Reggie Jackson led all scorers with 29 points for the Thunder, who fell to 2-6 on the year. Serge Ibaka had 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.


Mavericks Shut Down Kings

(Dallas, TX) -- It was quite the turn of events after the first quarter as the Mavericks came on strong for a 106-98 victory over the Kings at the American Airlines Center. Sacramento jumped out to a 32-14 lead before being outscored 92-to-66 over the final 36 minutes. Dirk Nowitzki posted 23 points and passed Hakeem Olajuwon for ninth on the all-time NBA scoring list.  Chandler Parsons knocked down five threes on his way to 19 points. Dallas is 5-3. Rudy Gay tallied a game-high 26 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the defeat. DeMarcus Cousins put up a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Ramon Sessions scored 18 filling in for the injured Darren Collison. The Kings are also 5-3.


Blazers Comeback Against Hornets

(Portland, OR) -- The ball was still on Gary Neal's finger tips as the clock struck zero, taking away the game-tying basket and the Trail Blazers came away with a 102-100 win at the Moda Center.  Charlotte blew a 23-point first half lead. LaMarcus Aldridge collected a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Damian Lillard paced Portland with 29 points and seven assists. The Blazers have won four-of-five. Lance Stephenson tallied 14 points and 14 boards in the defeat. Al Jefferson had a team-high 22 points for the Hornets, who have lost two in-a-row and are winless in four road games this season.


Spurs Crush Warriors

(Oakland, CA) -- It was business as usual for the Spurs as they pounded the Warriors, 113-100, behind 28 points and seven assists from Tony Parker at ORACLE Arena. Tim Duncan had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Manu Ginobili posted 17 off the bench. San Antonio jumped above .500 at 4-3. Steph Curry's streak of 75 straight games with a three-pointer came to an end when he missed all seven of his attempts. Klay Thompson tallied a game-high 29 points and Harrison Barnes dropped 22 on 9-of-12 shooting. Golden State is 5-2.


Bulls Visit Raptors Thursday

(Toronto, Ontario) -- The Bulls will be in Toronto to take on the Raptors Thursday night. Derrick Rose scored 24 points in his return to lead the Bulls to a 102-91 win over the Pistons their last time out on Monday. Chicago improved to 6-2 on the season with its fifth win in six games. Thursday's tilt tips off at 7 p.m.
