Junior High Boys Basketball -- Oct. 4

DIETERICH -- Dieterich Junior High School fell to Newton St. Thomas in the Dieterich Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Tuesday evening.

St. Thomas claimed the win 29-19. Hemrich led the winners with 11 points. Dieterich was led by Randy Brummer with eight.

Dieterich drops to 0-2 on the season.

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran handed Teutopolis B a 44-29 loss in the Altamont Lutheran Classic Tournament Tuesday evening.

Altamont Lutheran was a 44-29 winner. Teutopolis B held a 19-18 halftime lead but ALIS came back with a 13-5 run in the third quarter and finished out the final period with a 13-5 edge.

Duckwitz led ALIS with 12 points while Budde and Laatsch had nine each. T-town was led by Alex Thoele with six.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg edged Sullivan in both seventh and eighth grade action.

Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade contest over Sullivan 15-10. Kirby tallied five points for the winners.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras won 34-30. A. Burton tallied 15 for the winners. The games were the season openers for Stew-Stras.
