(Orlando, FL) -- John Wall went off for 30 points, 12 assists and five rebounds as the Wizards held off the Magic, 105-98, at the Amway Center. All five Washington starters finished in double figures with Marcin Gortat chipping in 20 points and 12 boards. Nene Hilario returned from a one-game suspension stemming from a preseason altercation to put up 12 points, four rebounds and five helpers for Washington, which bounced back from an opening night loss to the Heat. Nikola Vucevic picked up his second double-double in two games with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Ben Gordon had a throwback performance tallying 22 points off the bench, while Evan Fournier put up 21 on 8-of-10 shooting. Orlando is 0-2.


Timberwolves Clip Pistons

(Minneapolis, MN) -- A balanced effort led the Timberwolves to a 97-91 win against the Pistons in their home opener at the Target Center. Thaddeus Young had a team-high 19 points and five rebounds, while Nikola Pekovic posted a double-double with 17 and 10.  Mo Williams and Kevin Martin combined to score 25 points off the bench as Minnesota picked up its first win in its second try. Caron Butler knocked down 10-of-14 shots on his way to 24 points off the bench.  D.J. Augustin came off the pine to contribute 20. Detroit's starting lineup shot 19-of-53 from the field as the Pistons fell to 0-2.


Knicks Ruin Cavaliers Homecoming

(Cleveland, OH) -- The homecoming for LeBron James and the Cavaliers didn't go as planned with the Knicks stealing a 95-90 victory at Quicken Loans Arena.  James struggled turning the ball over eight times and missing 10-of-15 shots. He finished with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Carmelo Anthony knocked down a dagger jumper with 25 seconds left to cap his 25-point and six assist night. J.R. Smith added 11 points and seven assists off the bench for New York, which evened up its record at one. Kevin Love put up 19 points, 14 rebounds and four assists in his Cleveland debut. Kyrie Irving contributed 22 points, seven assists and five boards in the defeat.


Mavericks Throttle Jazz

(Dallas, TX) -- Chandler Parsons tallied 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the Mavericks to a 120-102 win over the Jazz from American Airlines Center.  Dirk Nowitzki also scored 21 points while Al-Farouq Aminu recorded 16 points and 10 boards off the bench. Monta Ellis and Brandan Wright both chipped in 14 points for Dallas, which improved to 1-1. Derrick Favors paced Utah with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Trey Burke and Gordon Hayward both tallied 16 points in the loss. The Jazz are 0-2 for the fourth time in five years.


Clippers Skate By Thunder

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Serge Ibaka missed a three as time expired and the Clippers held on for a 93-90 win over the Thunder at the STAPLES Center. Blake Griffin posted 23 points and seven rebounds, while Chris Paul added 22 points, seven assists and four boards. Paul missed two key free throws late in the fourth that kept the shorthanded Thunder alive. Already without Kevin Durant, Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Anthony Morrow, Oklahoma City lost guard Russell Westbrook to a hand injury in the first half. Perry Jones gave the Thunder life dropping a career high 32 points with seven rebounds. Ibaka chipped in with 17 points and nine boards as they fell to 0-2.


Bulls Battle Cavaliers

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls welcome LeBron James and the Cavaliers to the United Center tonight. The Bulls are 1-0 after beating New York in the opener. The Cavs lost their opener to the Knicks last night.
