ALTAMONT -- Altamont picked up two junior high girls basketball wins over Effingham Sacred Heart Tuesday evening.
Altamont won the seventh-grade contest 27-17. M. Guse and A. Goeckner had six points each for the winners. The Shamrocks were led by C. Feldhake with nine.
In the eighth-grade game, Altamont claimed a 34-27 win. T. Mette scored 12 and J. Schultz 11 for the winners. N. Carie scored 18 for the Shamrocks.

At Effingham
St. Anthony handed Sigel St. Michael two losses. The Bullpups won the seventh-grade game 24-17 to improve to 5-5 on the season. Katherine Slaughter led in scoring with eight while Katie Rogers added seven. Niebrugge tallied eight and McWhorter seven for St. Michael.
In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony was a 21-13 winner and is now 6-2 on the season. Shae Kinkelaar and Meg Richards scored eight points each. Bueker led St. Michael with 12.

At Centralia
Effingham claimed two wins over Centralia Tuesday evening. The Mustangs edged Centralia 17-16 in the seventh-grade contest. Martin scored six for the winners.
In eighth-grade action, Effingham was a 36-18 winner. The Mustangs held a 23-7 halftime lead. Fearday scored 14 for the Mustangs.

Teutopolis downed Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor in both contests. T-town was a 43-4 winner in seventh-grade play. T-town stepped out to an 18-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. Olivia Niemerg tallied eight points to lead 12 players who scored in the contest. T-town is now a perfect 10-0. Stew-Stras/Windsor drops to 3-8.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town was a 32-19 winner. T-town held a 20-6 halftime lead. Deters scored 12 for the winners. Schlechte led Stew-Stras/Windsor with 10. SS/Windsor dropped to 6-3. T-town improves to 6-4.
T-town will host Champaign Franklin at 10 a.m. and Decatur Robertson at 3 p.m. Saturday. The game in between at 12:30 p.m. will feature Franklin against Robertson.

Jasper County handed Flora two losses in action Tuesday evening.
Jasper County was a 45-4 winner in seventh-grade play. Jasper County held Flora scoreless in the second and third quarters. Kelsi Geltz tallied seven points for the winners as everyone scored for Jasper County in the game.
In eighth-grade play, Jasper County was a 29-21 winner. Mallory Bergbower had a double-double with 12 points and 26 rebounds. Alison Russell chipped in with nine points.
