Junior High Girls Basketball -- Oct. 13

Effingham St. Anthony and Pana Sacred Heart split victories in seventh and eighth-gradegirls basketball play Monday evening.

The Bullpups were winners in the seventh-grade contest 24-14 to improve to 3-4. Pana Sacred Heart took a 2-1 first quarter lead but St. Anthony came back to outscore Sacred Heart 14-2 over the next two quarters.

Taylor Beesley and Katherine Slaughter had six points each.

In eighth-grade action, Pana Sacred Heart was a 38-32 winner, outscoring the Bullpups 18-15 in the second half. Katie Kabbes led St. Anthony with eight points.

At Windsor

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor claimed both victories. In seventh-grade play,  Stew-Stras/Windsor won 31-24 as Hayes tallied 10 points. SS/Windsor is now 3-5 on the season.

In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras/Windsor claimed the victory 26-18 to improve to 5-1. Schlechte tallied 13.
