Bulls Destroy Rockets

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bulls held the high-powered Rockets offense to 35-percent shooting and 5-of-26 from deep as they crushed Houston, 111-87, at the United Center. Mike Dunleavy led the way with 21 points, while Joakim Noah just missed a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Chicago is 3-3 in its last six games. Dwight Howard was the only Rockets starter to reach double figures with 12 points. It was only the third time this season James Harden was held under 10 points.  Houston has lost two in-a-row.

 

Hawks Hold Off Bucks

(Atlanta, Ga) -- The Hawks avoided a devastating defeat at the hands of the Bucks,  pulling out a 102-97 victory at Philips Arena behind 22 points and eight assists from Jeff Teague. Atlanta moved to three-and-a-half games ahead of the Knicks for the eighth spot in the East and remained five games ahead in the loss column. Paul Milsap added 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the win. Ersan Ilyasova posted a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds for Milwaukee. Brandon Knight contributed 20 points, five boards and four helpers as the Bucks have lost five out of six.

 

Thunder Trounce Lakers

(Oklahoma City, OK) -- Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored 29 points apiece as the Thunder trounced the Lakers 131-102 in Oklahoma City. Serge Ibaka racked up 15 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks for the Thunder, who have won two in-a-row and five-of-seven overall. Caron Butler chipped in with 11 points off the bench in the victory. Jodie Meeks netted 19 points and Kent Bazemore added 16 off the pine for LA, which has lost four of its last five games. Pau Gasol donated 14 points and Jordan Farmar had 13 in the setback.
