Illinois No Match For Michigan

(Champaign, IL) -- Rayvonte Rice had 16 points and nine rebounds but Illinois fell 84-53 to Michigan yesterday at the State Farm Center. The Wolverines clinched the Big Ten regular season title. Kendrick Nunn had 14 points as Illinois fell to 17-13. The Illini play at Iowa on Saturday.


No. 1 Gators Rout South Carolina In Road Finale

(Columbia, SC) -- Michael Frazier the Second made a school-record 11 three-pointers en route to a career-high 37 points as top-ranked Florida crushed South Carolina 72-46 in its road finale in Columbia. The Gators has won 22 in-a-row to improve to 28-2 on the season and 17-0 in the SEC. They close out the regular season on Saturday at home against 24th-ranked Kentucky.


Georgetown Upends Creighton In DC

(Washington, DC) -- D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Georgetown in a 75-63 upset win over 13th-ranked Creighton in DC. Markel Starks added 17 points for the Hoyas, who improved to 17-12 with an 8-and-9 Big East record. Doug McDermott led the Bluejays with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Grant Gibbs poured in 17 points in defeat. Creighton dropped to 23-and-6 with a 13-4 conference record.


Syracuse Falls To Georgia Tech

(Syracuse, NY) -- Syracuse dropped its fourth in five games last night with a 67-62 loss against Georgia Tech at the Carrier Dome. C.J. Fair dropped a game high 28 points, while Tyler Ennis added 18. Rakeem Christmas grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and blocked four shots for the Orange. Syracuse falls to 13-4 in the Atlantic Coach Conference and will take on the Seminoles on Sunday to close out the regular season.


Baylor Upsets ISU In Waco

(Waco, TX) -- DeAndre Kane had 20 points but it was not enough as 17th-ranked Iowa State lost 74-61 at Baylor last night. Dustin Hogue chimed in with 12 points as the Cyclones fell to 22-7 and is 10-7 in the Big 12. ISU hosts Oklahoma State Saturday in the regular-season finale.


College Basketball Roundup

UIC suffered a 73-63 loss on the road at Valparaiso last night. Northern Illinois also fell on the road, losing 61-56 at Western Michigan. Thursday, Northwestern plays host to Penn State while DePaul welcomes Butler to Rosemont.
