Bryant Headed To Tennessee

(Chicago, IL) -- Cubs prospect Kris Bryant will begin the year in the minors  ESPN says he will start the year with Double-A Tennessee. Bryant hit .336 with nine home runs and 32 RBI in 36 games in the minors last season. He batted .364 with six homers and 17 RBI in 20 games during the Arizona Fall League this past year.

Former National League Rookie of the Year Chris Coghlan is invited to the Cubs' spring training after signing a minor league deal Wednesday. Coghlan picked up the top rookie honors in 2009 as a member of the Marlins. He hit .321 with nine homers and 47 RBI that season. He has struggled since then, hitting .242 with 12 home runs and 70 RBI from 2010 through last year.
