Cubs' Bryant Named AFL MVP
(Scottsdale, AZ) -- Cubs third base prospect Kris Bryant is being celebrated as the MVP of the Arizona Fall League. The 21-year-old Bryant was selected second overall in June's draft. He hit .364 with six homers and 18 RBI in 20 games for the Mesa Solar Sox during the league.
Cardinals Buy Minor-League Affiliate
(Memphis, TN) -- The Cardinals have purchased their Triple-A farm club. St. Louis bought the Memphis Redbirds franchise while the city of Memphis bought its stadium, AutoZone Park, the "St. Louis Post Dispatch" reports. The teams was facing financial troubles.
