Cardinals Double Up Red Sox In Game Two
(Boston, MA) -- The Cardinals knocked in three runs in the seventh inning to double up the Red Sox 4-2 in Game Two of the World Series from Fenway Park. The Cards scored on a sac-fly from Matt Carpenter and a throwing error from reliever Craig Breslow. Carlos Beltran was 2-for-4 with an insurance RBI a day after exiting Game One with a rib injury. The best-of-seven series is knotted up at 1-1. Michael Wacha improved to 4-0 during the postseason after giving up two runs in six innings. Cardinals manager Mike Matheny says Wacha was at his best once again.
Trevor Rosenthal struck out the side in the ninth for the save. John Lackey allowed three runs in 6 1/3 frames for the setback. David Ortiz hit his second two-run homer of the series. St. Louis hosts Game Three on Saturday night.
