Teutopolis wins Class 2A State Baseball Championship

Teutopolis used steady scoring and solid pitching to win the Class 2A State Baseball Championship, defeating St. Joseph Ogden 10-2.  The game went a full 7 innings, and with runners threatening in the final inning, the Wooden Shoes turned a double play and the celebration erupted. 

The game at Dozer Park in Peoria was heard on 979XFM and  www.979xfm.com.

T-town ends the season with a 31-6 record, while S-J-O finishes at 27-8.  St. Joe Ogden also received 2nd place in the 2016 State Tournament.  

A Welcome Home parade and fire truck ride begins Sunday at 12:30pm from Teutopolis High School.  A reception will follow in J.H. Griffin Gym about 1pm.

In the Third-Place Game in Class 2A, Palos Heights (Chicago Christian) won over Orion, 9-0.
