North Clay Claims Class M Regional Baseball Championship

WAYNE CITY -- North Clay (Louisville) improved to 16-5 and claimed the Class M Baseball Regional championship over Edwards County (Albion), 7-2 Monday.

North Clay edged out to a 3-2 lead in the third inning then scored single runs over the next four innings. North Clay had 11 hits in the game.

Quincy Aldrich hit two home runs and drove in four RBI for the winners while Colt VanDyke had two home runs and two RBI. Colby Zimdars and Briar Repking had two singles each. Zimdars added an RBI.

Jordan Bloemer was the winning pitcher, going five innings allowing one hit, five walks and striking out 12.

North Clay will be back in action Saturday in Pinckneyville in the first round of the Class M State Tournament. The Indians will play Gallatin County at 3:30 p.m.
