T-town Advances To Junior High State Baseball Tourney, Altamont Lutheran Wins Regional

SHELBYVILLE -- Teutopolis Junior High School blanked Shelbyville 4-0 to win the Class AA Shelbyville Sectional Saturday and advance to the state baseball tournament.
T-town scored all four of its runs in the first inning and Collin Funneman held Shelbyville in check to pick up the pitching win. He went all seven innings, allowing three hits and one walk.
Leading in hitting were Ethyn Dust with a double and two RBI and Eric Kremer with a double and an RBI.
T-town improves to 16-4 and will face Carrollton (14-0) Friday at 10 a.m. in the state quarterfinals at Eastside Centre, East Peoria. That game will open play. Following are Princeville against Maroa-Forsyth at noon, Chillicothe against Lockport Kelvin Grove at 2:30 p.m. and Green Valley Midwest Cnetral taking on Paris Crestwood at 4:30 p.m.
The winners advance to Saturday action with semifinals at 10 a.m. and noon, the third-place game at 2:30 p.m. and the championship at 4:30.

At Altamont
Altamont Lutheran Interparish School won its regoinal championship game Friday against Odin 3-0.
Altamont Lutheran now advances to state play in the SIJHSA. They will face Coulterville at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
