Teutopolis Downs St. Anthony; Other Friday High School Baseball

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes defeated the St. Anthony Bulldogs 14-2 Friday in high school baseball action.

A seven-run second inning keyed the Shoes' win.  T-Town added two runs in the third, a run in the fourth and four more in the fifth on their way to the victory.  St. Anthony scored its two runs in the fifth.

Darren Probst went the distance in the five-inning affair for Teutopolis, allowing two unearned runs on four hits, walking two and fanning five.  Probst is 4-0 on the fall.  Alex Hoelscher took the loss, allowing nine runs, six earned, on seven hits and four walks in 2-1/3 innings of work.  Neil Williams pitched the final 2-2/3 innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits and a walk while fanning two.

Bobby Wenthe and T. Flach each had three hits for Teutopolis and each homered in the game.  Flach also scored three times.  Probst also homered and drove in two runs.  Cody Will had a hit, scored twice and drove in three runs.  Kenter had a double and walked twice and scored.  Louis Niemerg had two hits and walked, scored three times and drove in a run.  John Ungrund had two hits and scored a run.

For St. Anthony, Neil Williams singled twice and stole a base.  Eli Dasenbrock singled.  Austin Bushur homered and drove in two runs. 

Teutopolis is now 17-3 on the fall.

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor posted an exciting 2-1 win over Neoga Friday.

Stew-Stras/Windsor scored a run in the first and added a tally in the fourth.  Neoga scored a run in the sixth. 

Mark Jones got the win in six innings of work, allowing one earned run on five hits, walking two and fanning four.  Guy Walk took the loss for Neoga, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits, walking two and striking out seven.

Moschenrose and Hutchinson drove in the runs for Stew-Stras/Windsor; Easton drove in the lone run for Neoga.  Allen and Cole scored the runs for Stew-Stras/Windsor; Baker scored the Neoga run.  Hits for Stew-Stras/Windsor by Moschenrose, Cole, Kramer and Deremiah; two hits each for Neoga by Romack and Easton and a hit for Baker.

Stew-Stras/Windsor is 11-5 on the fall; Neoga is now 7-8 on the season.

North Clay tied the game in the seventh and won it in the eighth as the Cardinals nipped South Central 4-3 Friday.  The game-winning run scored on a balk.

South Central took a 2-0 lead in the first, but North Clay tied the game with single runs in the fourth and fifth.  South Central went back ahead 3-2 with a run in the sixth, but North Clay came back for the victory.

McNeely got the win for the Cardinals, allowing three runs on 11 hits in 7-2/3 innings of work, walking three and striking out three.  Cox got the final out for the save, allowing a walk.  Noah Powless went the distance and took the loss for the Cougars, allowing four runs, just two earned, on seven hits while walking four and fanning seven.

For North Clay, Clifton had two hits and drove in a run, Cox doubled and drove in a run, Traub doubled and singled, and Bailey singled and drove in a run.

For South Central, Gavin Ratermann had three hits and drove in a run, Tyler Ross singled twice, Tyus Holmes singled and drove in a run, and Dre Hill doubled.
