Effingham St. Anthony edged Neoga 5-4 in high school baseball action Tuesday evening.
The two squads scored two runs each in the second inning. St. Anthony then edged away with two runs in the third as Eli Dasenbrock drew a walk and Austin Bushur and Brandon Puckett had back-to-back singles.
Neoga came back within 4-3 in the fourth. St. Anthony then tallied what would prove to be the winning run in the top of the fifth as Bushur drew a walk. A passed ball and an error on a ball hit by Puckett produced the run.
Neoga rallied in the fifth, scoring a run but left the bases loaded.
Gurtner, Jacob Lorenz and Alex Hoelscher had two singles each for the winners. Neoga was led by Romack with a single, home run and an RBI.

At Altamont
Altamont trounced Brownstown/St. Elmo 18-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule behind the no-hit pitching of Klaiten Wolff. It was the second game, back-to-back, no-hitter for Wolff.
He almost had a perfect game, giving up one walk in the fifth and finished with four strikeouts. He also had a double and three RBI.
Ziegler had two singles, a double and an RBI while Miller had a single, double and two RBI, Cornett two singles and an RBI, Goeckner a single, double and three RBI and Armstrong two singles and an RBI.

Teutopolis stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and went on to down Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 14-0 in five innings due to the 10-run rule.
T-town had seven hits and was aided by six Stew-Stras/Windsor errors. Drees had two singles and three RBI and Bloemer a double for the winners. D. Smith, Johnson and K. Smith combined to pitch a two-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.
S-S/Windsor was led by Kramer with a double.
