Bulldogs Win N.C. Tourney, Area Roundup

LOUISVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony High School won the championship of the North Clay (Louisville) Baseball Tournament Saturday.
St. Anthony opened with a 15-5 pounding of Webber Township (Bluford). The Bulldogs broke a 1-1 tie with a six-run second inning. Eli Dasenbrock and Bryar Jansen had a single, double and drove in a run each while Neil Ritz had three singles and Neil Williams a double and two RBI.
The Bulldogs then defeated host North Clay 2-1. The Bulldogs broke a 1-1 tie after two innings with the winning run in the fourth.
St. Anthony had four hits. Austin Bushur had a solo home run in the second. Alex Hoelscher reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth and scored the winning run.

Teutopolis blanked Century and Shawnee Wolf Lake in games Saturday at Rend Lake College.
T-town beat Century 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule. T-town had 11 hits in the contest including six doubles. Flach had a single, double and three RBI while Wenthe had a single and double, Probst a double and an RBI, Niemerg a single, double and two RBI, Kenter a double and Ungrund a single, double and two RBI.
Probst pitched a three-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts.
In the second contest, Teutopolis defeated Shawnee Wolf Lake 6-0 behind 11 hits. Wenthe had a double, triple and an RBI while Goldstein had a single and double. Niemerg and Will had two singles and an RBI each. Kenter had a single and three RBI. Wenthe picked up the two-hit pitching win with three walks and six strikeouts.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg captured a doubleheader over Ramsey Saturday. In the opener Windsor/S-S won 6-1. Hutchinson pitched a five inning, two-hitter with two walks and 10 strikeouts.
Allen had two hits for the winners along with an RBI.
In the second contest, Windsor/Stew-Stras won 13-1 over Ramsey in five innings.
Allen pitched the win on a four-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts. Helmuth, Vonderheide, Cole and Moschenrose had two hits each. Cole had three RBI while Moschenrose and Vonderheide had two each.
