Bulldogs, Cougars, Indians Claim High School Baseball Victories

Effingham St. Anthony High School blanked Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 17-0 in five innings of baseball competition Tuesday.
The Bulldogs edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead, had a four-run second, a seven-run third and a four-run fourth to end the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.
Thirteen players had hits for the Bulldogs led by Neil Williams with a single, triple and an RBI, Eli Dasenbrock with a single, triple and three RBI and Scott Rentfrow with two singles, a double and an RBI. Rentfrow picked up the pitching win on a one-hitter.
BCCH had one hit, a single by Bales.

South Central came calling and handed St. Elmo/Brownstown an 11-3 loss behind a 15-hit attack.
The Cougars took the early lead. Dylan Smith finished with a single, two triples and an RBI while Tyus Holmes had a single, triple and three RBI and Dre Hill a single, double and an RBI.
Noah Flowers had two singles for ST/B.

At Altamont
Altamont was a 7-2 winner over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor Tuesday evening.
Garret Ziegler picked up the pitching win and Altamont improved to 2-3 on the season. Stew-Stras took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third but Altamont came right back with five runs in the bottom of the frame.
Cornett and Ziegler had two singles each. Ziegler drove in a run. Armstrong had a double and three RBI.
