The Effingham Junior High School baseball team improved its record to 14-1 with a 10-0 win over Mattoon Tuesday.
The Mustangs also clinched the conference championship, the third crown in as many years. Brett Koester earned the pitching victory. Offensively, Sandifer had a walkoff home run to end the game while Koester tripled and Mason Hull singled and tripled. Alec Morrissey had two hits in the contest.
At Teutopolis
Teutopolis Junior High School played host to Sullivan in baseball action and claimed a 12-1 victory in five innings via the 10-run rule Tuesday.
T-town stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked. T-town had only four hits led by Ethyn Dust with a double and an RBI and Drew Thoele with two doubles and four RBI. Drew Heuerman pitched three innings, allowed two hits, four walks and one strikeout while Bradley Oseland came on to pitch two innings, allowing no hits, one walk and striking out three.
T-town is now 12-2 on the season and hosts Flora Thursday.

At Odin
Odin edged North Clay (Louisville) 10-9. North Clay held a 3-1 lead after four innings and upped that to 5-2 after five. Odin came back with three in the sixth to come within 9-5.
Odin then pulled it out in the bottom of the seventh with five runs. Odin had nine hits led by Smith with a triple and an RBI and Laffoon with a double. Arnold had two singles and two RBI.
North Clay was led by Jordan Bloemer with four singles and two RBI and Quincy Aldrich with a double and an RBI. Ethan Burkett chipped in with two singles and drove in three runs. North Clay drops to 10-3.

Stewardson-Strasburg came calling and went home with an 8-1 win over Altamont.
Stew-Stras had nine hits in the contest and was aided by three Altamont errors. Altamont had seven hits led by Black and Brown with two hits each. Black added an RBI.
