Altamont Drops Two, N.C. Wins, Loses in Jr. High Baseball

Altamont dropped two games in junior high baseball action Saturday at Greenville.
Piasa defeated Altamont 14-4 behind a 12-hit attack. Altamont committed seven errors. Piasa took a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back.
Runge had a single, home run and one RBI for Altamont while Black, Biggs and Higgs had two singles each. Black and Higgs had an RBI each.
Altamont then fell to host Greenville 2-1. Greenville took a 1-0 lead in the third before Altamont tied the score in the top of the sixth. Greenville came right back with a run in the bottom of the sixth for the win.
Altamont had three hits led by Runge with a home run and an RBI.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) picked up a victory Friday and suffered its first loss Saturday in junior high competition.
North Clay beat Clay City 11-0 to improve to 10-0 Friday. Quincy Aldrich had a single, home run and three RBI for the winners while Jordan Bloemer had a double and an RBI and Bailey Zimmerman and Briar Repking two singles and an RBI each.
Reese Blank was the winning pitcher going five innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven.
In Saturday's game, Newton claimed a 10-2 win over North Clay behind five hits and seven errors committed by the Cardinals. The Cardinals drop to 10-1.
Nick Cohorst led the Eagles with a single, double and an RBI. Noah Wagy picked up the pitching win, going all seven innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out 11.
