EJHS Claims Win, St. A, T-town Split Victories, Roundup

The Effingham Junior High School baseball team defeated Flora 12-2 Tuesday and improved its record to 6-1 on the season.
Adam Levitt was the winning pitcher and Brett Koester led the hitting attack with a single, double, triple and three RBI. Levitt also contributed with two singles and a double while Ryan Sandifer added a double. Landon Wolfe, Bryce Lohman and Kendal Ballman each had a single.
Effingham hosts Lockport Friday.
At St. Anthony
In B competition at St. Anthony, Teutopolis and the Bullpups split a doubleheader. T-town edged the Bullpups 2-1 in the opener. The two teams were tied at 1-1 after the first inning. T-town claimed the victory with a run in the top of the fifth.
In the second game, it was the Bullpups turn to claim a one-run victory, 9-8. The score was knotted at 4-4 after three innings. T-town went ahead 8-4 in the top of the fourth but St. Anthony clawed back within one in the bottom of the frame. St. Anthony then tallied two runs for the victory in the bottom of the fifth.
Kingery had two singles, including a walkoff single for the win. Zimmerman had a double and an RBI.

At Windsor
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor downed Dieterich 13-7 by scoring 10 runs in the second inning.
Isaac Kramer picked up the pitching win to improve to 2-1. He allowed five hits, one walk and had seven strikeouts.
Hansen, Thies, Kramer, Armes, Quast and Bridges had two singles each for Stew-Stras/Windsor (4-3). Thies hit a single and a grand slam home run and finished with five RBI while Kramer and Armes had two RBI each and Hansen and Quast had one.
Dieterich (2-1) was led by Radloff with three singles and Campton with a double and a two-run homer.

Altamont and Shelbyville were tied at 1-1 in the first inning before Shelbyville took the lead in the second in Monday action. Altamont tied in the fifth then scored five runs and went on for a 7-4 victory.
Jordan Black picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts. Reardon and Brown led Altamont with three singles each while Reardon had one RBI and Brown two RBI.
In Tuesday's game, Altamont edged past Altamont Lutheran 4-3. Brandon Runge picked up the pitching win, throwing a one-hitter with three walks and nine strikeouts.
Altamont had three hits by Runge, Brown and Pemberton with an RBI each.
