Effingham Downs Jasper County, Teutopolis in JH Baseball

Effingham Junior High posted baseball wins Friday over Jasper County and Saturday over Teutopolis.
Effingham won over Jasper County, last year's Class 1A State Champion, 10-0. Adam Levitt pitched a shutout and Ryan Sandifer belted two home runs. Brett Koester had two singles and a triple and drove in three runs, Dylan Bushur tripled twice, and Bryce Lohman, Kendall Ballman and Adam Levitt each collected a hit in the win.
Wade Frohning took the loss for Jasper County. At the plate for Jasper County: Zach Jansen and Chase Zumbahlen each singled.
Effingham defeated Teutopolis 9-8 after taking their first lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mason Hull earned the win and Brett Koester picked up the save. Bryce Lohman had a big offensive game with two triples and a double and 4RBI. Koester tripled and drove in a run, Hull singled twice, and Jason Devore added a base hit for the Mustangs. For Teutopolis, Eric Kremer tripled, and Lee Hardiek, Jack Goeckner, Ian Addis and Colin Funneman had hits for the Shoes.
The Mustangs improved to 4-1 on the season, 2-0 in conference play.
