CHBC Advances In NTC Baseball Tourney, Weekend Scores

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City advanced in the National Trail Conference Baseball Tournament with a 12-6 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo Friday.

BSE took a 3-1 lead in the second inning and led 6-1 after three. But CHBC came back as Kale Hardimon hit a grand slam with two outs in the fourth inning. That pushed the Bobcats into five more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.

The Bobcats had nine hits in the contest led by Hardimon with his grand slam and four RBI. Wyatt Rueff had two singles and three RBI, AJ Radloff with two singles and two RBI, Kaidyn Calame with two singles, Ben Askins with a single and an RBI and Blake Mueller with an RBI.

Radloff picked up the win in relief. He went 3 2/3 innings, giving up no runs on one hit while striking out five.

Dodge Willms led Brownstown/St. Elmo with a double and two RBI while Jayce Gillespie had a single and an RBI and Lane Stine an RBI.

The Bombers finish the season with a 3-15 record.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City advances in the NTC Tournament to face St. Anthony today at 4 p.m.

In other games today, Dieterich will travel to Altamont while North Clay/Clay City hosts Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and Neoga is at South Central. All games will start at 4 p.m.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis finished the fall season with an 11-1 victory over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Saturday.

Coach Justin Fleener's squad pushed into a 6-0 opening inning lead and ended the game via the 10-run rule with a five run fourth.

T-town had 10 hits and was aided by six CORL errors. Gavin Addis led the way in hitting with a single, home run and four RBI. Davin Worman had a double, Jake Bushur two singles and two RBI, Henry Thompson two singles and two RBI, Michael Niebrugge two singles and Carter Hoene with a single and two RBI.

Austin Borries went the five innings on the mound. He allowed one run on six hits, no walks and struck out eight.

The Shoes finsh the season with a 19-3 record. CORL ends its season at 10-4.

T-town won't be back in action until the spring season when the Wooden Shoes will travel to Neoga on March 18.

At Woodlawn

Altamont broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run third and went on for a 10-3 victory over Woodlawn Saturday.

The Indians banged out 12 hits in the contest. Keegan Schultz had a single, home run and finished with three RBI. Cooper McManaway had a single, double and an RBI, Zaine Miller and Brayden Elam two singles and an RBI each, Blake Berg a single and two RBI, Kade Milleville a single and an RBI and Brayden Schnarre an RBI.

Milleville went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, no walks whiles striking out seven for the win on the mound.
