T-town Hands St. A Loss, Dieterich, Neoga, North Clay/Clay City Wins

The Bulldogs leaped out to the 5-0 opening inning lead and it looked like they were headed for the win quickly. Will Fearday drew a walk to start things off. Brady Hatton then reached base on an error. Brock Fearday followed with a home run and suddenly, in the blink of an eye, St. Anthony moved ahead 3-0. With one out, Sam Link drew a walk and stole second. Henry Brent was hit by a pitch. With two runners on base, Alex Mayer hit a grounder to third. The throw got Mayer out but Link scored. Rogan Allen followed with a single that scored the fifth run of the inning.
St. Anthony then pushed its lead to 6-0 in the top of the second. With one out, Hatton singled. B.Fearday followed with a single. On a grounder by B. Fearday, T-town attempted a double play and Hatton just kept running and scored.
But T-town didn't stay down long. The Wooden Shoes battled back to pull within 6-4 in the bottom of the frame. With one out, Jake Bushur and Gavin Addis had back-to-back singles. Dawson Hoene then followed with a third single to load the bases. Davin Worman drew a walk that scored a run. Mick NIebrugge doubled to drive in two runs. Jason Kreke followed with a ground out that scored the fourth run.
T-town came back to put two runners on in the third but couldn't get either one home. Both teams put a runner on in the fourth but to no avail. B. Fearday was hit by a pitch in the fourth and Brent had a single in the fifth but that was the lone excitement in either inning.
Then in the bottom of the fifth, Coach Justin Fleener's squad came to life, all with two outs. With one out on the board, Henry Thompson drew a walk. But Jake Bushur hit a grounder and Thompson was taken out on a fielder's choice. Bushur moved to second on a steal. Gavin Addis followed by drawing a walk. Hoene then got his third single of the contest and drove in a run. Worman followed with a single that scored a run and St. Anthony then committed an error. Suddenly the Shoes had moved into a 7-6 lead.
The Bulldogs put two runners on in the sixth and had the tying run on in the seventh as Link singled and was sacrificed over to second . A walk to Alex Mayer put two runners on. But T-town's fourth pitcher, Addis got out of the frame with a strikout and a ground out to end the contest.
Hoene finished with three singles and an RBI while M. Niebrugge had a double and two RBI. Worman and Kreke had a single and an RBI each and Bushur had two RBI.
Addis got the save on the mound. He went the 1.1 innings giving up one hit, one walk and striking out one.
St. Anthony was led by B. Fearday with a single, home run and three RBI, Allen with a single and an RBI and Mayer with an RBI.
The Bulldogs dropped to 17-2 on the season and will be back in action Monday taking on either Brownstown/St. Elmo or Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in the National Trail Conference Tournament.
T-town improved to 18-3. The Wooden Shoes will play host to Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Saturday.

At Neoga
Neoga struck quickly, scoring three runs in the first and went on for a 9-1 National Trail Conference victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.
The Indians were on a three-streak, scoring three in the first, third and fifth behind a 10-hit attack. Carter Young was the big gun at bat on the day, knocking out two home runs and producing four RBI. Landon Titus finished with a triple and drove in three runs. Cayden Hakman added three singles and an RBI and Colin Blazich two singles and an RBI.
Meanwhile, Kanen White went two innings and earned the pitching win. He allowed one hit, two walks and struck out four. The Indians improved to 4-4 in the conference, 10-8 overall.
CHBC was led by AJ Radloff with two doubles, Kale Hardimon with two singles and Wyatt Rueff with an RBI. The Bobcats finished NTC play at 1-7.
At Neoga

At Louisville
Norht Clay/Clay City struck early with a run in the first inning and went on for a 6-1 victory over Altamont Thursday.
The Cardinals tallied a second run in the second inning then had a four-run fourth. Altamont's lone run came in the fifth.
North Clay/Clay City's Carder Walden started the game on the mound, going five innings, allowing one run on five hits, one walk while striking out five. He picked up the victory.
The Cardinals had eight hits led by Cody Zimdars with two singles, a double and three RBI while Trenton Ingram added a single and two RBI and Ian Jones with two singles.
Altamont was led by Kade Milleville with two singles and Brayden Elam with a single and an RBI.
At Louisville

Dieterich trailed Woodlawn 2-1 after two innings but knotted the score in the third and then went on a run for a 10-4 victory.
The Maroons banged out 16 hits in the contest. Andrew Hall and Gavin Meinhart were the big guns. Hall hit a single, two doubles, a home run and finished with two RBI. Meinhart had two singles, two doubles and two RBI. Jaxon Funneman had a double and an RBI while Bryce Bohnhoff and Carson Baxter finished with two singles and an RBI each. S. Schottman had two singles.
Mason Lidy started the game and went three inings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks. Gavin French came on to finish the last four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, and striking out five.
