North Clay/Clay City Blanks South Central In H.S. Baseball

LOUISVILLE -- North Clay/Clay City blanked South Central, 3-0 in the lone area high school baseball contest Wednesday.

The runs all came in the fifth inning. 

The game came down to the pitching as Ian Jones threw a two-hitter giving up three walks while striking out six.

Callaway Smith was the tough-luck loser, giving up three runs, on three hits, five walks while striking out eight. The Cougars also finished with three errors.

North Clay/Clay City took advantage of two hits as Jack Compton had a single and an RBI and Cayden Craig a single and an RBI. Cody Zimdars earned the other RBI and Ben Czyzewski had the other hit, also a single.

The Cougars had two hits, a double by Hudson Moore and a single by Zane Montes.
