Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Claims EIC Tourney On Busy Night of Baseball

The Bobcats finished off the round robin EIC tournament with a victory Friday at Greenville University with a 2-0 win over Brownstown/St.Elmo.

Both Bobcats runs came in the bottom of the 5th inning as CHBC had six totals hit and commited an error. Meanwhile the Bombers only had one hit, a double by Jace Gillespie, and committed one error.

Kyle Lamb threw the first five inning allowing just one hit with eight strikeouts and four walks to get the win. Clive Schlanser pitched the final two innings striking out four to earn the save.

Corey Hoopingarner took the hard luck loss allowing two runs, one earned, striking out four while walking two over six inninigs. 

AJ Radloff finished with two hits, Wyatt Rueff had a triple, while Conner Nowitzke doubled. Clive Schlanser and Conner Vaugn each had hits for the Bobcats.

 

Earlier in the day Brownstown/St.Elmo fell to Mulberry Grove 15-1. Zayden Gillespie and Calin Chandler each had hits for the Bombers in the loss.

 

Other Area Scores 

St. Anthony defeated Christ Our Rock Lutheran 14-5. The Bulldogs had 15 hits and committed 3 errors. The Stalions finished with 5 hits and 2 errors.

Will Fearday was creditted with the win throwing three innings, Xander Beals also pitched three innings, and Brock Fearday pitched an inning as well.

WIll Fearday had 2 RBI and 3 hits, Brady Hatten also had 3 hits including a homer and 5 RBI, Brock Feaday also homered and had 3 RBI with his 2 hits. Aiden Lauritzen, Sam Link, and Rogan Allen all collected 2 hits. Vince Vogel also picked up a sinigle in the Bulldog victory.

 

Teutopolis improved to 17-3 as they picked up a Double Header victories over Altamont.

Game one was a pitchers dual as Gavin Addis pitched 8 scoreless innings for the win. Altamont's Kade Milleville threw 6 &1/3 scoreless innings. Zaine Miller took the loss as the Wooden Shoes walked it off in the bottom of the 8th inning for the 1-0 win.

Jason Kreke and Henry Thompson each had two hits, Mick Niebrugge doubled and Davin Worman tripled for the shoes 6 hits.

Reed Stuemke and Kaden Wolff picked up the two Idian hits. 

Game 2 saw T-town pound out 15 runs on 13 hits. Micheal Habing and Andrew Probst each had 3 hits. Carter Hoene, Henry Thompson, Dawson Hoene, Mick Niebrugge, Jason Kreke, Teagan Pals, and Ben Grunloh all had hits.

For Altmamont Kaden Wolff and Dyson Wagner each singled. 

Mick Niebrugge got the win while Keegan Schultz took the loss on the mound.

 

Dieterich picked up a win over Odin 8-3 thanks to big top of the 5th inning where the Maroons scored 6 runs. 

Carson Baxter, Bryce Bohnoff, and B. Schottman each had 2 hits and a rbi. Gavin Mienhart and Justin Boerngen each singled. Alex Schottman also had a hit and an RBI. 

Gavin French pitched 6 strong innings with 5 strikeouts and gave up just one run to earn the victory.
