Bulldogs, Bobcats, Wooden Shoes, Cougars, Cardinals Win In High School Baseball

Offensively, the Bulldogs had nine hits. Brock Fearday went the distance, knocking out a triple and a solo home run. Brady Hatton added a single, double and two RBI and Henry Brent a single and triple. Rogan Allen chipped in with a single and two RBI and Xander Beals a single and an RBI.
The Bulldogs had three pitchers go to the mound, holding down Woodlawn, allowing only a hit each. Brady Hatton went three innings for the win. He didn't give up a walk while striking out seven. Samuel Link threw two innings, allowing one walk and striking out two. Alex Mayer came on to finish the final two innings, giving up only two walks and striking out three.

At Vandalia
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City advanced in the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament with a 7-3 win over Mulberry Grove Wednesday.
The Aces edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead and tallied two more in the top of the third to lead 3-0.
But CHBC came right back to knot the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the third and moved into a 6-3 lead with three more in the fifth. The Bobcats finished with a single run in the sixth.
Wyatt Rueff was the hitting star on the day with a double, home run and three RBI. Connor Vaughn added a single and two RBI and AJ Radloff an RBI.
Hardimon came on in relief for the win on the mound. He went four innings, allowing only one hit, one walk while striking out seven.
The Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament continues today at Greenville University with Brownstown/St. Elmo against Mulberry Grove at 4:15 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City facing Brownstown/St. Elmo at 7.

At Strasburg
Teutopolis improved to 15-3 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Wednesday.
The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Things were quiet through the next two frames before the Hatchets tied the score in the bottom of the fifth.
T-town then came back with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for the victory.
The Shoes finished with 11 hits while Carter Hoene and Aidan Niemerg took care of business on the mound. Hoene went six innings for the victory. He gave up only one run on two hits, walked one and struck out two and improved to 3-1 on the season.. Niemerg came on for the save, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out one for a 2-0-1 record.
Davin Worman had the lone extra base hit of the game with a double. Dawson Hoene had two singles and two RBI while C. Hoene added two singles. Jason Kreke and Niemerg had a single and an RBI each.
Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Jackson Gurgel, Derk Friese and Carter Verdeyen with a single each. WSS drops to 4-8 on the season and returns to action Friday hosting North Clay (Louisville).
Coach Justin Fleener's crew will be back on the field today hosting Altamont in a doubleheader.

South Central played host to Altamont and claimed a 4-2 victory as two National Trail Conference teams met Wednesday.
The Cougars' Callaway Smith had quite the game, with three singles and an RBI and also picked up the win on the mound. He went four innings, allowing no runs on five hits, one walk and striking out three.
The Cougars scored all four runs in the fifth inning. Altamont mounted a comeback bid in the top of the seventh, scoring both runs but fell short.
Maddox Robb had a single and an RBI for the winners while Trevan Sidwell and Evan Hoover had a single each. Hudson Moore added an RBI.
Altamont outhit South Central by a 9-6 count. Zaine Miller led the way with two singles and two RBI while Keegan Schultz had two singles.

North Clay/Clay City banged out 13 hits and downed Dieterich by an 11-1 count in six innings Wednesday.
The Cardinals didn't let any grass grow under their feet, as they ripped out to a 5-0 opening inning lead and never looked back, ending the game in the sixth via the 10-run rule.
Jack Compton went four innings for the mound win. He allowed only one hit, one walk and struck out five. Ian Jones and Cayden Craig went an inning each.
The Cardinals' Craig had his hitting shoes on with three singles, a double and three RBI. Trenton Ingram added a single, double and two RBI, Compton with three singles and two RBI. Cody Zimdars had a triple and an RBI and Gavin Hosselton with a single and two RBI.
Dieterich was led by Gavin Meinhart with a single, double and an RBI and Justin Boerngen with a double.
