The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest 10-4. Effingham took a 4-2 lead in the second inning then had three-run innings in the fourth and fifth.
Wade Robison had a single, double and two RBI for the Mustangs while Brody Nelson had two singles and two RBI. Deek Thompson added a single and an RBI.
Hunter Harminson ended up with the pitching win, going two innings, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out two.
In the eighth-grade contest, Effingham was a 4-2 winner behind eight hits.
Highland took a 2-1 lead in the second inning. Effingham tied at 2-2 in the fourth and moved ahead with single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Calvin Beck and Coen Westjohn had two singles each. Beck added an RBI. Elliott Braddy and Balin Garris had a single and an RBI each.
Braddy went 5.2 innings for the pitching victory. He allowed two runs on four hits, one walk while striking out eight.
In a Wednesday game that didn't get on the website, Effingham edged Teutopolis, 2-1. The Mustangs tallied both runs in the third while T-town scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh.
Westjohn had a single and an RBI for the winners. Thompson was the winning pitcher, going four innings, giving up one run on four hits, one walk and striking out nine.
T-town was led by Sam Probst with a single and double and Jack Weber with an RBI.

Effingham St. Anthony blanked Jasper County, 8-0 behind a 14-hit attack Friday.
The Bullpups were led in hitting by Blake Verdeyen with three singles and an RBI, Curtis Tingley with three singles, Charlie Bierman and Bentley Baudier with two singles and an RBI each and Ben McDonald with a single and two RBI.
Tingley went the distance on the mound. He gave up no runs on three hits, no walks and struck out nine.
Jasper County had three hits, singles by W. Michl, B. Emmerich and A. Henkel.

Neoga held a 3-0 lead in the second and had a three-run fifth around single runs in the third and sixth.
The winners banged out 11 hits led by M. Probst with a home run and two RBI, G. Ballinger with two singles, a double and four RBI, C. Young with two singles and K. White with a single and two RBI.
Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by C. Chandler, L. Powell, G. Sanders, L. Stine and J. Gillespie with a snigle each.
K. White went six innings for the mound victory. He gave up four hits, one walk and struck out six.

The Comets of Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg/Trinity became the 2024 National Trail Conference champions with a convincing 10-0 six-inning victory over South Central Friday.
The Comets completed a perfect 9-0 conference record.
Weston Friese shut South Central out, giving up seven hits but striking out six and not giving up a walk.
Jackson Hartman had three singles and an RBI for the winners. Noah Vonderheide added a single and two RBI and Atticus Wascher a single and an RBI. Johnny Richter added an RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo claimed a 7-3 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday.
BSE took a 2-0 opening inning lead and CHBC tied in the fourth. BSE moved ahead 3-2 in the fifth but CHBC came back again to knot the score. But BSE tallied four in the top of the seventh for the win.
Schnarre and Towler had two singles and an RBI each for the winners. M. Schaub, Morrison and L. Miller had a single and an RBI each.
CHBC was led by Kaisyn Calame with two singles and Charlie Hardimon with an RBI.
Seabaugh was the winning pitcher. He went 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and striking out four.

Teutopolis split victories in Saturday competition.
The Wooden Shoes fell to Mount Zion by a 5-1 tally.
Mount Zion stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead. T-town tallied its lone run in the third and Kale Goeckner had the RBI. Ripken Miller finished with a double for the Shoes.
In the second contest, Teutopolis captured an 8-1 victory over Olympia.
The Wooden Shoes had seven hits led by Bennett Schumacher with a single, double and one RBI, Maddux Pals with a triple and an RBI and Blake Niemerg with two singles.
Pals was the winner on the mound. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, one walk and striking out two.
