T-town, Altamont, N. Clay Nabs H.S. Baseball Victories

TEUTOPOLIS --  Teutopolis improved to 12-1 on the fall high school baseball season with an 8-4 victory over South Central Monday.

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 2-0 opening inning lead. South Central tallied a single run in the top of the second but the Shoes came back with three in the bottom of the frame. The Cougars scored two in the top of the fourth to pull within 5-2 but T-town tallied single runs over the fourth, fifth and sixth frames.

Both teams had 12 hits and both ended with three errors.

Davin Worman finished with a single, triple and an RBI for the Shoes. Michael Niebrugge had a single and double while Jason Kreke finished with two singles and three RBI, Dawson Hoene two singles and two RBI and Aidan Niemerg two singles and an RBI.

Gavin Addis improved to 2-0 on the mound. He went 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, three walks while striking out seven. Andrew Probst picked up the save to improve to 2-0-1. He went 3.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits, one walk and striking out three.

South Central was led by Colton Smith with two singles, a double and an RBI, Callaway Smith with a single, double and an RBI, Brody Markley with a double and an RBI and Evan Hoover with two singles.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 12-1 while South Central dropped to 8-3. T-town returns to action today at Mulberry Grove while South Central is also back in action today, hosting Neoga.

At Altamont

Altamont blanked Wayne City by a 5-0 count Monday.

The Indians finished with seven hits in the contest and was aided by two Wayne City errors and six walks.

Kade Milleville and Dyson Wagner finished with two singles and an RBI each while Keegan Schultz had the lone extra base hit with a double and an RBI. Zaine Miller added two RBI.

Miller captured the win on the mound, going all seven innings, giving up only two hits, one walk while striking out seven.

At Louisville

North Clay/Clay City blanked Odin by a 2-0 count in Monday action.

The Cardinals improved to 7-3 on the season and are back in action today against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.
