Effingham St Anthony played host to North Clay/Clay City in high school baseball action Tuesday and claimed a 12-2 win in five innings.

The two teams went scoreless through the first two innings before St. Anthony edged ahead with a run in the third. The Bulldogs then put together five runs in the fourth and ended the contest with six in the fifth via the 10-run rule.

St. Anthony finished with 11 hits in the game led by Brock Fearday with a double, home run and two RBI, Vincent Vogel with two doubles, Will Fearday with a single, double and three RBI, Samuel Link with a single, double and four RBIs and Aiden Lauritzen with two singles and an RBI.

Lauritzen also picked up the win on the mound. He went all five innings, allowed two runs on five hits, one walk while striking out eight.

North Clay/Clay City was led by Cody Zimdars with a single, home run and two RBI and Ian Jones with a double.

At Altamont

Altamont stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead and went on for a 3-0 National Trail Conference win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Tuesday.

The Indians tacked on two more runs in the fifth behind seven hits. Kade Milleville led the way with two singles. Parker Bell added a single and two RBI and Zaine Miller a single and an RBI.

Milleville also was the winner on the mound. He allowed only two hits, didn't give up a walk and struck out eight.

The Hachets singles came off the bats of Branson Tingley and Carter Verdeyen.

At Brownstown

Kyle Lamb threw a no-hitter as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City blanked Brownstown/St. Elmo by an 8-0 count Tuesday.

Lamb went four innings, did not allow a hit, gave up one walk and struck out eight. Kale Hardimon came on to throw two innings, allsong one hit, one walk while striking out two. AJ Radloff finished off the final inning with two strikeouts.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats had six hits led by Blake Mueller and Hunter Pope with a double each and Wyatt Rueff with a triple. Conner Nowitzke had two singles. Radloff had two RBI as did Mueller. Clive Schlanser added an RBI.

Lane Stine had the lone hit for BSE with a single. The Bombers drop to 0-2 in the National Trail Conference, 2-4 overall and are back in action today against Mulberry Grove.

At Neoga

Dieterich took a 2-0 opening inning lead and held that through the first three innings and held a 4-1 lead through six.

But, here came Neoga. The Indians tallied three runs in the bottom of the seventh to go along with a single run in the fourth and knotted the score at 4-4 sending the game into extra inings.

Neoga then came through with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

The Indians finished with 10 hits in the contest led by Matt Propst with three singles, a double and two RBI, Cayden Hakman with a single, double and an RBI and Carter Young with a solo home run,  Ethan O'Dell chipped in with two singles.

Neoga had five pitchers. Hakman ended up with the win going the final inning, striking out one.

Dieterich finished with nine hits led by Carson Baxter with three singles, Jaxon Funneman with a double and two RBI, Andrew Hall with two singles, Mason Lidy  a single and an RBI and Bryce Bohnhoff with an RBI.

At Neoga
