JUNIOR HIGH BASEBALL

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City suffered two losses in the Greenville Tournament Saturday.

CHBC fell to the Bombers by a 6-5 count. CHBC outhit the Bombers 6-2 but committed four errors.

CHBC held a 2-1 first inning lead and led 5-1 after two. But the Bombers came back with five runs in the third to move ahead 6-5 and that's where the scoring ended.

Cayden Ondes had a single, two doubles and an RBI for CHBC while Matt Kircher had a single and two RBI and Tyce Kircher a single and an RBI. Lance Roadarmel added an RBI.

CHBC then fell to Greenville by an 11-1 tally in six innings.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City did not have a hit and finished with five errors.

Monday Games

Effingham captured a doubleheader over Greenville Monday.

The Mustangs won the A game by a 9-2 tally. Effingham moved head with three runs in the third, tallied five in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Effingham had six hits led by Braden Jones with two singles and three RBI, Dagg Thompson with a double and an RBI, Coen Westjohn with a double and an RBI and Wade Robison with a double.

Elliott Brady threw the four-hitter allowing two runs, two walks while striking out six in the win on the mound.

In the B game, Effingham stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on for an 11-1 win in six innings.

EJHS had seven hits led by Balin Garris with two singles, a home run and two RBI, Braden Jones with a double and an RBI and Ben Rodman with a single and an RBI.
