St. Anthony, Altamont, WSS Win In High School Baseball

Effingham St. Anthony banged out 11 hits and scored 11 runs in a five inning victory over Dieterich in high school baseball action Tuesday by an 11-1 count.

The Bulldogs didn't waste any time, stepping out to a 6-0 opening inning lead.

St. Anthony finished with 11 hits while three pitchers were containing the Maroons to four. Joseph Tegeler opened on the mound, going two innings, allowing one run on three hits, one walk and striking out two. He garnered the victory. Samuel Link threw two innings, giving up one hit, one walk and striking out three. Alex Mayer went the final inning, allowng no runs on no hits, two walks and stirking out one.

The Bulldogs hit the long ball with two doubles and three home runs. Tegeler aided his own cause with a double, home run and two RBI while Link had a single, home run and two RBI and Will Fearday a single, home run and one RBI. Brady Hatton tallied two singles and three RBI and Rogan Allen a double and two RBI.

Dieterich was led by Bryce Bohnhoff with a single and triple and Carson Baxter with a single and an RBI.

At Altamont

Altamont hosted Neoga and picked up a 4-2 victory Tuesday.

Altamont edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead but Neoga tied in the second and moved ahead 2-1 in the top of the sixth. But Altamont came back with a three-run bottom of the frame.

Brayden Elam led the way for Altamont with two singles, a double and two RBI.

Kade Milleville went 5.2 innings, striking out 14 batters. He allowed two runs on four hits and walked two. Dyson Wagner came on to finish out the final inning, giving up one hit and striking out one for the win.

Neoga was led by Carter Young with a single and triple, Cayden Hakman with two singles and Colin Blazich with a double. Neoga dropped to 0-1 in the National Trail Conference, 1-2 overall.

At Beecher City

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg scored a single run in the second and that's all it took in the 1-0 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.

Blayzz Verdeyen picked up the victory going four innings on the mound. He allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out seven. Branson Tingley went the final three innings, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out two.

Meanwhile, the Hatchets had two hits, all singles by Jackson Gurgel, Ben Bridges, Branson Tingley and Carter Verdeyen.

CHBC's one hit came off the bat of Wyatt Rueff with a single. The Bobcats committed four errors.
