Sigel St. Michael handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 13-3 loss in six innings of junior high baseball action Monday.
The Sharpshooters edged out to a 2-0 opening inning lead. St. Michael tallied three more in the second to lead 5-1 then scored eight more runs over the next four innings to end the contest by the 10-run rule in the sixth.
St. Michael had 10 hits led by W. Andrews with four singles and three RBI, A. Heuerman with a double and four RBI, B. Burton with a double, E. Walk with two singles and two RBI, Ta. Ballinger with two singles and C. Dasenbrock with two RBI.
Andrews also led the Sharpshooters on the mound. He went five innings, giving up three runs on five hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two.
CHBC was led in hitting by Brody Cox with a single and two RBI.
"All the pitchers battled under hot conditions, but our defense was porous this day, allowing eight errors," said CHBC Coach John Brown.
