Dieterich, T-town, BSE Claim High School Baseball Victories

DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School handed Mulberry Grove an 18-1 loss in four innings of baseball Monday.

The Movin' Maroons stepped out to a 2-0 opening inning lead then led 4-0 after two. Over the next two innings, Dieterich tallied seven runs in each inning to end the contest.

Dieterich finished with 12 hits. Mason Lidy had two singles, a double and four RBI while Bryce Bohnhoff added a single, two doubles and two RBI. Andrew Hall contributed a single, double and three RBI and Jaxon Funneman added a double and an RBI.

Gavin French started the game on the mound and picked up the victory. He went 3.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits, no walks while striking out four. Funneman came on to finish the contest, allowing two walks.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis moved ahead 2-0 in the first inning and went on to blank Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, 8-0 Monday.

Gavin Addis started the game on the mound. He went three innings, allowing two hits, one walk and struck out six for the win.

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then had another two-run inning in the third. They finished out with four in the fifth.

Davin Worman had the offensive lead in the game with a single, two doubles and two RBI. Dawson Hoene had a single, triple and two RBI. Austin Borries added a double and an RBI and Addis a single and an RBI.

Windsor/Stew-Stras had three hits, doubles by Jackson Gurgel and Ben Bridges and a single lby Seth Rincker.

At Odin

Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 2-1 on the season with a 7-5 victory over Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Monday.

BSE edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead then had a four-run second and a two-run fifth.

Dodge Willms went five innings, allowing two hits, one walk while striking out four as the winner on the mound.

BSE finished with eight hits led by Zayden Gillespie with a single, double and two RBI and Lucas Powell with two singles and an RBI. Willms added a double and Keelan Speagle had a single and an RBI.

The Bombers return to action Thursday against Wayne City.
