The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday, 3-2 in 10 innings.
The game was tied 1-1 at the end of nine innings. The Cardinals' Pedro Pages doubled in automatic runner Michael Siani in the 10th and the ball rolled to the wall after Michael A. Taylor's diving attempt at the ball came up empty. Alec Burleson then blooped a single to left to score Pages and make it 3-1.
The Pirates mounted a comeback and scored in the bottom of the 10th, but came up a run short.
Andre Pallante came up with a big game on the mound for St. Louis, going seven innings for the first time this season. John King got the win in relief.
The Cardinals improved to 45-41, and begin a series in Washington this evening.

It was the Ian Happ Show for the Chicago Cubs Thursday as the Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-2.
Happ had four hits, including two three-run home runs.
Meanwhile, Jameson Taillon went seven innings to improve to 5-4 on the season
The Cubs are now 40-48 on the season and open a series hosting the Los Angeles Angels today at 1:20pm at Wrigley Field.

Cleveland beat the Chicago White Sox 8-4 Thursday. The Sox fell to 25-64 on the season, and open a series with Miami this evening.
