Effingham Post 120 Juniors Win Twice, Lose Twice

Effingham Post 120 Juniors claimed a baesball doubleheader over Teutopolis Post 924 in Saturday action.
In the opener, Effingham claimed a 1-0 win behind six hits. Poland picked up the pitching win but there were five pitchers who threw for Effingham.
Leading Effingham in hitting was Bohnhoff with a single and double. White picked up the lone RBI. Roepke led Teutopolis with two singles.
In the second contest, Effingham Post 120 blanked Teutopolis 2-0. Effingham scored both runs in the sixth inning. Teutopolis outhit Effingham 4-3. Roepke again had two singles while Koester had a single and a double.
Sanders led Effingham with a double and an RBI.

In Sunday play, Effingham Post 120 fell to Newton 10-7 and lost to Teutopolis 5-4.
In the Newton contest, Post 120 had six hits while Newton had 11. Newton finished with eight errors but Post 120 had six.
Wendling led Newton with three doubles while Probst had a double and two RBI, Zuber two singles and Taylor two singles and an RBI.
The Effingham Juniors hits were all singles by six different players.
Teutopolis edged Post 120 5-4 with the winning run coming in the bottom of the ninth. Post 120 held a 4-3 lead after two innings but T-town tied the score at 4-4 in the fifth.
Drees and Westendorf had three singles and an RBI each for T-town while Roepke had two singles. Leading Effingham was Buhrmann with three singles and three RBI and Koester with two singles.
