The St. Louis Cardinals posted a 7-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday night.
The Redbirds scored twice in the third inning and added four runs in the fourth, adding on a single tally in the seventh.
Pittsburgh bunched their runs with a four-run outburst in the fifth inning.
The Cardinals pounded out 13 hits in improving their season mark to 44-40. Pittsburgh slips to 40-44.
Kyle Gibson got the win for the Cardinals.
Nolan Gorman hit a grand slam for St. Louis, and Alec Burleson hit a two-run shot in the third.
Ryan Helsley picked up his 31st save.

The Chicago Cubs fell to the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday, 6-4.
Hayden Wesneski again fell victim to the home run ball in taking the loss for the Cubs, allowing five runs in five innings.
Trea Turner homered twice for the Phillies, who improved to a major league best record of 56-29.
Seiya Suzuki homered in the ninth for the Cubs, who fell to 39-47.
