T-town, CHBC, Altamont, BSE Win In High School Baseball

The Wooden Shoes tallied single runs in the first, second, third and fourth innings and Mattoon tied the score in the bottom of the fourth 4-4. The Shoes then scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings and finished out with five in the seventh for the winning margin.
T-town outhit the Green Wave by a 13-10 count. Mitch Koester was on a hitting streak with three singles, two doubles and three RBI. Joey Niebrugge added a single, double and two RBI. Davin Worman finished with a single and triple while Brett Kreke had two singles and two RBI. Mick Niebrugge had a single and two RBI.
Andrew Probst picked up the pitching victory. He came on to throw through the fifth inning, allowng no runs on no hits and one walk. The victory was his second of the season.
Teutopolis improved to 15-8 and will be back in action hosting Marshall Saturday. Mattoon dropped to 10-12.

Kyle Lamb threw a no-hitter as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took a 7-0 victory over Dieterich in Thursday play.
Lamb struck out nine in the contest and allowed two walks.
CHBC took a 3-0 opening inning lead and added on two runs in the third and sixth innings. Gage Lorton had two singles and drove in a run while Clayton Wojcik added two singles. Wyatt Rueff, Blake Mueller and Carson Evans finished with an RBI each.
At Beecher City

North Clay (Louisville) took a 1-0 opening inning lead. But that didn't last long as Altamont tallied three runs in the second and that's all the scoring from both teams as the Indians won 3-1 Thursday.
The Indians had seven hits led by Kaidyn Miller with a home run and two RBI. Ethan Robbins added two singles while Keegan Schultz had a single and an RBI.
Dillan Elam threw a four-hitter, giving up one walk and striking out four.
North Clay was led by Ayden Jones with a single and an RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo ripped out to a 4-0 opening inning lead and went on to hold off Vandalia for a 17-11 victory Thursday.
BSE was outhit by a 12-7 tally but made those hits count. Corey Hoopingarner led the way with two singles and three RBI. Adam Atwood had two singles and an RBI. Cade Schaub added a single and two RBI and Josiah Maxey had a single and an RBI. Collin Maxey, Keelan Speagle and Lucas Powell had an RBI each.
The Bombers held a 4-0 opening inning lead and tacked on two in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, seven in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Vandalia actually outhit the Bombers by a 12-7 count.
Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 6-10-1 on the season and returns to action Saturday against Wayne City at 10 a.m.

The Eagles were led by David Ferguson with a triple. Gus Bierman had two singles while Drake Wolf added a single and an RBI and Max Meinhart and Carson Bartheleme an RBI each.
