Bulldogs, Indians, Eagles, Hatchets Winners In H.S. Baseball

The Bulldogs whipped out to the 5-0 lead then tacked on a single run in the third. The Trojans finally broke into the scoring column with a two-run sixth and tallied their final run in the seventh.
Both teams had six hits and two errors. Max Koenig had a double for the Bulldogs while Connor Roepke had a single and two RBI. Beau Adams and Henry Brent added a single and an RBI each.
Aidan Lauritzen went four innings for the pitching victory. He allowed no runs on two hits, four walks while striking out two. Samuel Link came on to throw the fifth with one strikeout and Brady Hatton went the final two, giving up three runs on four hits and one walk.
In the junior varsity contest, Charleston edged St. Anthony, 5-4. The Bulldogs held a 4-1 lead after four innings but Charleston came back with three in the fifth and produced the winning run in the sixth.
The Bulldogs finished with five hits led by Xander Beals with a solo home run and Eric Utz with a single and two RBI.

At Vandalia
Atlamont outlasted Vandalia in a big-scoring contest by an 18-11 count Wednesday.
The Indians edged out to a 3-1 opening lead then held a 9-5 second inning lead. Altamont tacked on three in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and finished with three in the seventh.
There were 26 hits between the two teams. Altamont led with 14 as Keegan Schultz hit two singles, a home run and had five RBI. Nathan Stuemke added two singles and fthree RBI while Kaden Davis finished with a single, double and an RBI. Kade Milleville tallied two singles and an RBI, Ethan Robbins a single and three RBI and Justin Magelitz a single and two RBI.
Stuemke went four innings for the win on the mound. He allowed eight runs on eight hits, two walks and struck out four.

Newton ran out to a 4-0 lead and blanked Casey-Westfield 8-0 in Wednesday action.
The Eagles tallied a fifth run in the second and tacked on three more in the fourth.
Newton had five hits and was aided by eight Casey-Westfield errors. Max Meinhart led the way with a double and two RBI and Gus Bierman had two singles and two RBI. Payton Harris added a single and an RBI and Gavin Meinhart and Dyan Gier had an RBI each.
Carson Barthelme went seven innings, allowing no runs on two hits, two walks while striking out eight in keeping Casey-Westfield off the basepaths.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg had a six-run first and an 11-run third in blanking Ramsey by a 17-0 count in four innings Wednesday.
Carter Vereyen threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk.
Meanwhile, the Hatchets finished offensively with 10 hits. Blayzz Verdeyen led the way with a single, double and five RBI while Kendall Morris had a triple, Colten Bridges two singles and two RBI, Jackson Gurgel two singles and an RBI and Connor Manhart and Branson Tingley with a single and an RBI each.
