STRASBURG -- Altamont High School's Ethan Robbins and Eli Miller combined on the mound to hold Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg to no runs as the Indians claimed an 8-0 baseball victory Monday.

 

The Indians edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second, then had a three-run third and a four-run sixth.

Robbins worked the mound for the win. He struck out 11 and walked only one in six innings, giving up four hits. Miller came on for the final inning, allowing two hits and striking out one.

Meanwhile, Altamont put seven hits to good use and took advantage of six walks.

The Indians used long distance ball as Miller hit a home run and finished with three RBI while Keegan Schultz knocked out a solo shot. Robbins aided his own cause with two doubles while Clayton Arnold added a double. Kaden Davis and Nathan Steumke had a single and an RBI each and Kade Milleville had an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg finished with six hits led by Jackson Gurgel with three singles.

At Cowden

Neoga banged out 13 hits in downing Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 10-2 in Monday play.

The Indians finished with five extra base hits led by Colin Blazich with a single, home run and three RBI. Keaton Lacy added a single, two doubles and an RBI. Trey Sheehan had two singles, a double and an RBI while Matt Propst finished with a single, double and an RBI. Brock Lanham chipped in with a single and an RBI.

Meanwhile, James Ballinger went four innings on the mound, allowing one run on two hits, three walks and striking out three.

CHBC tallied only five hits and finished with seven errors. The Bobcats were led by Wyatt Rueff with a double, Carson Evans with two singles and AJ Radloff with a single and an RBI.

At Charleston

Teutopolis took a 2-0 opening inning lead and went on for a 10-1 victory over Charleston Monday.

The Wooden Shoes finished with 10 hits in the contest led by Mick Niebrugge with three singles and an RBI, Mitch Koester with two singles and three RBI, Evan Waldhoff with a double and an RBI and Joey Niebrugge and Conner Hoelscher with a single and an RBI each.

Logan Lawson improved to 3-0 on the pitcher's mound as he went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, one walk and striking out five.

The Shoes finished with single runs in the third, fifth and sixth and five runs in the fourth.

T-town improved to 12-5 on the season while Charleston fell to 3-8. The Wooden Shoes are back in action today at St. Anthony while Charleston will travel to St. Anthony Wednesday.

Dieterich scored runs in the first four innings and tallied an 11-3 victory over Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Monday.

The Movin' Maroons finished with 11 hits led by Lucas Westendorf with two singles, a double and an RBI, Carson Baxter with two singles and an RBI, Jaxon Funneman with a double, Justin Boergen with a single and two RBI and Gavin French with a single and an RBI.

French was the winning pitcher. He went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, three walks and struck out five. Mason Lidy came on to finish the final inning with one strikeout.

Dieterich held a 1-0 opening inning lead then broke the game loose with three in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and one more in the sixth.

Newton ripped out to a 3-0 lead and went on to end this game over Marshall 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule Monday.

Dylan Gier threw a no-hitter for the Eagles. He went all five innings allowng one walk while striking out five.

The Eagles's Isaac Flowers provided the power with two singles, a home run and two RBI. Drake Wolf chipped in with a double while Gus Bierman added two singles and two RBI, Payton Harris two singles and one RBI and Carson Barthelme a single and an RBI.

At Newton
