TROY -- Effingham St. Anthony's Brock Fearday did his job offensively and defensively very well Thursday as the Bulldogs handed Troy Triad a 13-4  high school baseball loss.

Fearday went 4.2 innings on the mound, allowing two runs on five hits, four walks and striking out four for the victory.

He also had a great day at bat with two singles, a home run and four RBI.

St. Anthony held a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Triad came back within 4-2 in the fifth. But the Bulldogs went at it hard in the final two innings, scoring four in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Along with Fearday's offense, the Bulldogs produced a total of 13 hits. Along with Fearday's three hits, Samuel Link had a single, double and four RBI while Connor Roepke had a single, double and two RBI. Will Fearday finished with a single and double while Henry Brent had a single and triple. Brady Hatton contributed a triple and two RBI. Beau Adams had an RBI.

The Bulldogs did not have an error while Triad finished with two and tallied nine hits.

At Sauget

South Central edged Greenville 3-2 as the two high school squads competed at GCS Ballpark in Sauget Thursday.

The two teams played to a 1-1 opening inning tie and that score stood until the top of the fifth. South Central then scored two runs in the top of the frame to move ahead 3-1. Greenville came back with one in the bottom of the inning but that's where the scoring ended for both teams.

The Cougars finished with eight hits led by Trevan Sidwell with two singles and an RBI, Calloway Smith with two singles and Max Magnus with a double. Colton Smith and Zane Montes finished with a single and an RBI each.

Coen West went the distance on the mound. He allowed two runs on six hits, two walks while striking out eight.
