BREESE -- Effingham St. Anthony pushed across 14 runs to end this high school baseball contest Saturday by a 14-2 count in five innings.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 2-1 lead on Breese Central and led 3-2 after two. St. Anthony then went on a tear, scoring three in the third, six in the fourth and ending the contest with two in the fifth.

The 10-hit attack was led by Samuel Link with three singles and four RBI, Henry Brent with two singles and four RBI and Beau Adams and Brock Fearday with a single, double and an RBI each.

B. Fearday picked up the victory on the mound, going four innings, allowing two runs on five hits, two walks and striking out two. Aiden Lauritzen went the final inning, giving up one hit and striking out two.

At Effingham

Effingham kept its record intact with a 6-2 win over Mount Vernon Saturday.

The Hearts stepped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, added on two in the fourth and one in the sixth behind a 12-hit attack.

Kaiden Nichols provided big offense with a single, two doubles and driving in three runs. Camden Raddatz added a double while Braxton Lewis finished with two singles and two RBI. Nick Martin and Spencer Fox added two singles each.

Along with producing offensively, NIchols earned the win on the mound, going 5.2 innings. He gave up three hits, four walks while striking out six. The Hearts improved to 5-0.

In the junior varsity contest, Wade Bushur went five innings, allowing only one hit and striking out seven.

The Hearts finished with 11 hits led by Bushur with two singles, a double, triple and three RBI. Jacob Warner added a single and double while Keegan Koester added a double and an RBI. Aiden Feldhake had a single and two RBI.

EHS junior varsity returns to play Tuesday at Teutopolis.

At Altamont

Ethan Robbins threw a no-hitter as Altamont handed Central A&M a 14-1 loss in five innings Saturday.

The Indians ran off to a 7-0 first inning lead and the game was in the win column.

Robbins went all five innings, striking out 13 batters. He finished allowing one run and walking two.

Kaden Davis had a single, double and an RBI. Clayton Arnold had a double and three RBI. Kaidyn Milleville finished with two singles and three RBI while Keegan Schultz added two singles and an RBI. Riley Berg contributed a single and drove in three runs.

At Altamont

At Vandalia

Breese Mater Dei blanked South Central by a 4-0 count Saturday at the Vandalia Round Robin.

South Central outhit Mater Dei by a 6-4 count but committed two errors and gave up seven walks.

Mater Dei edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then scored single runs in the third and sixth innings.

The Cougars were led in hitting by C. Smith with two singles and Colby Bursott, Trevan Sidwell, Zane Montes and Max Magnus with a single each.

E. Wheelan was the winning pitcher for Mater Dei, going five innings, allowing no runs on six hits, no walks and striking out three.

in the second contest for the Cougars, South Central fell 4-2 to Vandalia.

Both teams had five hits but the Cougars committed five errors.

Vandalia held a 1-0 lead but South Central moved into a 2-1 lead in the third. The Vandals then had a three-run fiifth for the win.

Coen West led South Central with two singles and an RBI. Sidwell added a single and an RBI.

Neoga fell to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond by a 12-7 tally Saturday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 after one inning but ALAH moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the second then scored three runs in the fourth and never looked back.

Neoga finished with seven hits led by Matt Probst with a single, double and two RBI and Colin Blazich with a single, double and one RBI. Trey Sheehan ended with a single and an RBI. Micah Staszak added an RBI.

At Villa Grove

Villa Grove moved into a 2-1 lead on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg  and went on for a 6-4 victory Saturday in the WSS Round Robin.

Despite outting Villa Grove, WSS went down to defeat. The Hatchets had a 7-6 edge led by Branson Tingley with three singles and two RBi. Blayzz Verdeyen added a double.

Villa Grove was aided by four WSS errors.

Windsor/Stew-Stras then fell to Robinson, 10-3.

The Maroons had a 15-hit attack and drew five walks.

Robinson took a 2-0 first inning lead then broke the game open with an eight-run sixth. The Hatchets tallied their three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Verdeyen led the way with a single and two RBI. Kendall Morris added an RBI.
