St. Anthony Hands EHS Loss In JV Baseball

Effingham St. Anthony took a 4-0 opening inning lead and went on for a 12-1 victory over Effingham in five innings of junior varsity baseball action Wednesday.

The Hearts tallied their lone run in the second. St. Anthony had an eight-run third.

The Bulldogs were led in hitting by Joseph Tegeler with a single, double and two RBI, Tim Seiler with a double and three RBI, Rogan Allen with two singles and two RBI and Vincent Vogel with two singles and an RBI. Xander Beals added two RBI.

Beals picked up the pitching win, going 3.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits, one walk while striking out seven.

Jacob Warner had a single and an RBI for the Hearts while Brayden Tucker added a single.
